We just wrapped up a paver installation in a residential backyard near Sacramento. The client wanted a curved walkway leading to a small patio with a fire pit. We excavated about six inches down, laid a compacted base of crushed granite, then dry-laid concrete pavers in a running bond pattern. The trickiest part was cutting the edges to fit around an existing oak tree without damaging the roots.
